A Fifth Grade Experiment
December 12th, 2009 by lindabRemember back in Grammar School when you were in the fifth grade. The science fair and the volcano that blew up lava before your very eyes. Well, today I am going to perform one of these experiments which will test the PH of various liquids that we Americans drink volumes of every day.
Probably around the fifth grade we learned that the human body is made up of up to 75% water and we need it in order to live. So now, let’s get on with experiment:
.
Anyone who wishes to get a further education in the area of what’s in the water should go to Water what’s in it? for the full run down. I’m all about teaching and educating and I hope this was helpful.
Catch ya later!

Water Under Attack

From the Eyes of a Farmer
October 10th, 2009 by lindabThis past Summer, I will call it forever more, the Summer that wasn’t, I opened a store that only sold food from local sources. Apples and cider from Soon’s Orchard, yogurt from Tonjes, milk from Hudson Valley Fresh and Biodynamic produce from Harmony Farm and harmonious it was, from the eyes of a farmer.
My sister, Cynthia Cheyne and I had the pleasure of visiting Harmony Farm once a week to pick up our order. We would arrive and shut off our engines, Cindi in her car and me in my truck. We would then sit there for a just a moment to soak in the peaceful silence broken up by the singing of birds. Boy, the birds really like it there.
Matt, the Farmer @ Harmony Farm in Goshen New York, was usually in the fenced in enclosure. We would all spot each other and then we would make our way over to the cooler to uncover the order.
Just a tremendous feast for the eyes when the beets were uncovered ( http://www.abundantlifefarm.com/) just wonderful and grateful to have had those experiences in my life. If we all had those experiences we would be happier for them, so call Matt @ your Harmony farm and thank him for the Beets!

Water, what’s in it?
October 10th, 2009 by lindabI started down this road no too long ago. Yet once again, my not hard wired correctly, inquisitive mind, off on yet another adventure.
The water that we are consuming, from our pure spring water, bubbling, on the top of a mountain water scource. Pure, just what our bodies require. Well. I’m just the messenger here folks, that vision is about to shatter into millions of pieces:

Yuck, Yuck, Yuck. All the way to the bank. Whenever lots and lots of money is involved, have you ever noticed lots of yuck is, as well!
Water has been an issue for me for many, many, many years. I have been following the path of water and am a water activist and have been forever (http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/). Being the oldest of eight in an Italian family didn’t hurt either, our showers were timed!
Pure, life giving, healthy water is a basic human right, or is it? These are the questions we need to ask both ourselves and each other. The more questions we pass around, the more answers will come in return. But if the questions are never asked then I believe we are doomed, and justifiably so!
Water, what’s in your?

Has the World Gone Mad?
October 8th, 2009 by lindabToday, I met a 49 year old who had never heard of the company Monsanto. It never ceases to amaze me just how many of us are still in the dark. If you don’t know anything about Monsanto, rest assured, that is all about to change.
I am a 54-year-old Biodynamic Spin(R) Farmer. I have been following Monsanto (sometimes referred to as Monsanto/Sargenta) on behalf of the seed, for close to 30 years now. Some of the outstanding achievements that Monsanto has authored are: Bovine Growth Hormone, Round Up and Genetically Modified Seed (GMO).
In the past 15 years, Monsanto has circled the globe, purchasing seed companies, at an alarming rate. Whoever is in control of the food, is in control of the people. Just stop eating for a few days and that will put a different twist on things.
As a race, we have lost our instincts and our most primal connections to the earth beneath our feet. This Documentary film was produced by a French filmmaker on a mission to find out more about Monsanto/Sargenta, and this is what she discovered: http://wideeyecinema.com/?p=105.
So pass this along to anyone and everyone that you believe has never heard of the company Monsanto. They will be glad you did.
Thanks!
